How long does it take?

The turnaround time of your signage may vary on the type. Following is a list of typical turn around times:

  • Pylon: 4 to 6 weeks
  • Electronic Message Center:  4 to 6 weeks
  • Channel:  4 to 6 weeks
  • Monument:  4 to 6 weeks

What are the general guidelines for submitting artwork?

Acceptable PC Art files Vector Art files saved from their native program: Adobe Illustrator 9.0 or lower .ai convert text to outline or add font folder Adobe Illustrator 10 or CS .ai must be exported as an Illustrator 9.0 file CorelDraw 12 or lower .cdr convert text to outline or add font folder Encapsulated Postscript .eps Saved from a vector-based program i.e. Illustrator Autocad .dwg Word .doc may convert large amount of copy without re-typing Excel .xls can convert large amount of copy without re-typing Raster Art files: Adobe Photoshop 7.0 or lower .psd do not flatten image, leave as layers Adobe Photoshop CS .psd must be exported as a Photoshop 7.0 file .tif tagged image file .jpg may be used for smaller signs, depending on file size.

Text – (Always include a hard copy of the artwork.) Fonts incorporated in artwork must be converted to curves OR paths.

Media Requirements – Files must be sent on a 3.5″ floppy disk, or CD. Submit a hard copy for each order.

Laser-Generated Art – Should be minimum 300 dpi at size indicated above.

Black-and-White Line Art – (i.e., graphics and text) that is sharp in detail and not folded, wrinkled, etc. Fax transmissions are not considered camera-ready art.

MAC Art Files We currently do not use MAC. All MAC art files must be exported so a PC can open them.

Acceptable Art containing Photography Adobe Photoshop 7.0 or lower .psd Leave layers / Do not flatten image .tif Hi-resolution (at least 600 dpi at 1/2 size) .jpg Hi-resolution (at least 600 dpi at 1/2 size)

Not Acceptable for Large-Format Printing These art files are low-resolution images and do not contain enough data to accurately reproduce at a larger scale. .gif .wmf most .jpgs .bmp .pdf .doc .eps (any of the above saved as an .eps) Any art being used for internet, greeting cards software. If this is the only type art you possess, it will be possible for our Graphics Center to create a Working File. Please ask your Account Executive.

Not sure? If you are not sure what type of file you have and you are on a PC, you may do the following: * Highlight the file by right-clicking, click on PROPERTIES, will show you what type of file. * Or, open the file, using the zoom tool, zoom in 200-500%. If the art appears pixilated or “jaggy”, the art is not usable or editable.

COLOR * All color is direct-to-print from your art file unless otherwise noted. * If you prefer a close color-match, please use the universally-used PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM (PMS) to assign the number to each color you prefer to be matched. * Provide us with a hard copy in color you wish us to color match. Color-Matching can be time-consuming. Please allow additional time to meet your need.

LAMINATION All signs are laminated to ensure protection from fingerprints, smudges or moisture on the print surface. It is not necessary to laminate a banner.
